Another typo:
"I am not adorable. "I am a magical flower girl, and you are intruding."
Well, every family has to have one of those. Really he ought to be around more so the kids can learn to deal with it in-family. "And this is how we knee uncle when he's being a jerk."
*grin* this guy is on the family tree as "Asshat Grigori."

Why shouldn't she get him to promise if he means no harm?
Indeed. His accusations of rudeness made me instantly dislike the guy. Given that from Mies' perspective he is just some unknown, and therefore potentially dangerous, dude, I found her handling of the situation not at all unreasonable (apart from her assumed lack of ability to make her demands stick in the face of opposition).
Whoop! Thanks.
Yeah for Mies! Why shouldn't she get him to promise if he means no harm?
Also possible typo: "There's trouble coming, Dejah. I thought someone ought to warm you." - 'warm' or 'warn'? Both are possible they are different! :)
Whoop! Thanks. :-D
